The Olympics became closely associated with the popular Hully Gully dance craze of the late 1950s and early 1960s, with their recording “(Baby) Hully Gully” becoming one of the group’s notable dance numbers. This printed musical score preserves a piece of the era’s popular music culture, when new dance styles and international songs were circulated not only through records and radio but also through printed sheet music.

Published in Istanbul by Musiki Ar-Ak Evi, the sheet belongs to the output of one of the notable music publishers and printing houses active in Turkey during the 1960s and 1970s. A popular song could be brought into the home through a piano, guitar, or another instrument, allowing families and friends to reproduce and share the music themselves.
