Description:

This is a Turkish-language, softcover Asterix comic published by Tercüman newspaper and sold alongside the daily paper for a small additional fee. It is part of a newspaper-distributed promotional Asterix series that began publication in the early 1990s, rather than a standard bookstore release.

The Tercüman Asterix series followed a distinctive format: each Asterix story was divided into two separate issues (A and B), with both parts required to form one complete story. In total, 12 Asterix stories were published across 24 individual issues. This particular issue, however, represents only the second half (B part) of the story.

Printed entirely in color, the series nevertheless used thin, low-quality newspaper paper, making copies fragile and highly susceptible to wear. As a result, well-preserved examples are difficult to find, especially when paired with their corresponding A-part issues.

In addition to the Asterix content, each issue also includes children’s puzzle pages, as well as recurring backup comics such as “Gökler Hakimi Kaptan Erok – Storm” (by Saul Dunn and Don Lawrence) and “Mucit Macid – Léonard” (by Bob de Groot), which were standard features throughout the series.

This listing is for Issue 3B only, containing the second half of the story “Asteriks Olimpiyatlarda”, the Turkish edition of Asterix at the Olympic Games. Since this is the B part, the story is incomplete on its own and requires Issue 3A to form the complete narrative.
