Conan Volume #32 Turkish Comic Turkey Conan & Tarzan Red Sonja #207
CONAN CİLT – Volume #32 – Turkish Edition, Alfa Yayınları (1995)
Description:
This is a Turkish-language Conan compilation volume published by Alfa Yayınları in 1995 as Conan Cilt #32. These volume editions were part of a deliberate sales strategy used by the publisher, in which previously released individual issues were repackaged together under a new cover and presented as a fresh volume. Although marketed as a new release, the interior content consists entirely of earlier published material.
Conan Cilt #32 brings together material from Conan Aylık Yeni Maceralar Serisi Issues #189 and #199. This repackaging approach was commonly used by Alfa Yayınları to resell remaining stock, making the Cilt series an interesting example of Turkish comic publishing practices of the 1990s.
Issue #189 includes Savage Sword of Conan #207 along with an additional Red Sonja story, offering a mix of sword-and-sorcery narratives from the Marvel Conan universe. Issue #199 contains the story titled “Spirit of Cimmeria” as well as “Monkey Man,” a unique crossover-style tale that brings together Conan and Tarzan. This latter story is particularly notable as it was created by Turkish artist Yıldırım Örer, who imaginatively combined Robert E. Howard’s Conan with Edgar Rice Burroughs’ Tarzan, resulting in an unusual and highly collectible piece of Turkish comic history.
The cover artwork for this volume is taken from Savage Sword of Conan Volume 21 and was illustrated by Julie Bell. As with many Cilt editions, the cover does not directly correspond to the stories inside but was selected for its strong visual appeal.
