Description:

The story is based on Kästner's 1949 children's novel originally published in German as Das doppelte Lottchen. It follows two identical twin girls who were separated after their parents' divorce and unexpectedly meet at a summer camp, where they discover that they are sisters.

The girls decide to exchange places after the summer, with each returning to the other girl's home in order to bring their separated parents back together. Their clever plan leads to a series of amusing and touching situations, while the story explores family, friendship, separation, reconciliation and the strong bond between siblings.
