Hey Music World – “Julio Iglesias” – Issue #25, February 28, 1983 – Free Supplement – Turkish Edition

Description:

Hey was a popular Turkish weekly music, cinema, and youth magazine first published in 1970. It became well known for covering Turkish and international music, featuring artist interviews and profiles, and publishing regular music charts based on record sales and radio airplay. Hey Müzik Dünyası was a free supplement to the main magazine, offering additional music news and features for followers of the international music scene.

This Turkish-language issue, dated February 28, 1983, is the 25th issue of Hey Müzik Dünyası and features internationally renowned Spanish singer Julio Iglesias on the cover. His portrait was illustrated by Turkish artist Sezar, giving the issue a distinctive locally produced cover that may be of particular interest to collectors of vintage Turkish music magazines and Julio Iglesias memorabilia.

Inside, the magazine reports on Ray Charles’s return to the top of the music scene, Neil Young’s search for new musical material, and British pop group Bow Wow Wow’s move toward the big screen. The issue also includes a personal profile of Julio Iglesias in the “What He Likes and Dislikes” feature, offering a glimpse into the singer’s tastes and preferences. On the back cover, readers will find the “Bastır Viking” comic strip, known internationally as Hagar the Horrible, created by American cartoonist Dik Browne.
