Hulk #4 1987 Turkish Comic Turkey cover #16
Hulk – Issue #4 (1987) – Marvel Yayınları
Description:
Hulk Issue #4 is a Turkish black-and-white comic published in 1987 by Marvel Yayınları as part of the 20-issue Hulk series released between 1987 and 1988. As with the rest of the run, the original full-color material was published in black and white in Turkey due to the high cost of color printing at the time. The interior pages were recreated by tracing over the original artwork using tracing paper, resulting in simplified line work and a distinctly localized visual style characteristic of late-1980s Turkish superhero comics.
This issue continues the series’ trademark mismatch between cover art and interior content. The cover is adapted from Hulk Vol. 1 #16, while the interior stories are unrelated to the cover image. Inside, the issue includes the Hulk stories Ölüm Meleği and Sığınak (Part 2), presented as standalone segments featuring Hulk outside their original narrative sequence.
In addition to the main Hulk material, Issue #4 also includes Halk, a parody of Hulk drawn by Turkish artist Yıldırım Örer. The recurring presence of this locally created parody throughout the series adds cultural and collectible interest, highlighting how Turkish artists engaged with and reinterpreted iconic Marvel characters during this period. For collectors, this issue is notable both as part of the early Turkish Hulk run and for its combination of adapted Marvel content and original Turkish parody work.
