This comic book is Issue #2 of the classic adaptations series published by Günaydın Newspaper in Turkey during the late 1980s. Adapted from the story of Mata Hari, this issue continues the publisher’s initiative to introduce young readers to world literature and historical narratives through the comic book format.
As with the rest of the series, this comic was not sold commercially. Instead, it was distributed free of charge in exchange for eight coupons collected from Günaydın Newspaper, making it part of a distinctive newspaper-based promotional program. A total of nine issues were released in the series, each focusing on a different literary or historical subject adapted into comic form.
The covers in this series were illustrated by Turkish artist Ertan Tank, known for his work on Kara Murat and other iconic Turkish comic characters.
