Ottoman 1868 Land Deed Field in Kastamonu Sorgun Title Deed Dest-i Şirinzade Waqf

$150.00

Ottoman Tapu (Deed) Issued by the Ministry of Evkaf - Kastamonu (1868)

Description:
An early Ottoman tapu (property deed) dated 1 Temmuz 1284 (13 July 1868), issued under the authority of the Nezaret-i Evkaf-ı Hümayun (Ministry of Evkaf), as clearly noted in the heading: “An Canib-i Nezaret-i Evkaf-ı Hümayun.”

This deed concerns a parcel of vakıf land, as such properties were typically administered by the Imperial Ministry of Foundations and granted or sold for use by private citizens. The property is described as a two dönüm field located in Kastamonu Sanjak, Sorgun Kazası, Meran(?) village.

The document further records that the land originally belonged to Şerife Hanım, daughter of the prominent Dest-i Şirinzade family of Kastamonu, one of the city’s oldest and most respected families. She sold the property for 500 kuruş to Şükrü Efendizade Salim Efendi.

This deed is not only an important example of 19th-century Ottoman vakıf property administration but also provides a rare genealogical and social record, linking the document to a distinguished Kastamonu family.
