Ottoman Title Deed Adana Region, Armenian Ownership, 1892

Description:
An original Ottoman land deed issued in Adana Province, under the jurisdiction of Canib-i Şehir Nahiyesi (sub-district). The deed pertains to a vineyard property (bağ yeri), dated 30 Haziran 1308 (12 July 1892). The village name stars with Kara (Black) but i am not able to read rest of it. 

The land measurement is precisely recorded as 6 dönüm, 14 evlek, 35 arşun, 10 parmak. The boundaries are given as adjoining properties owned by Kifork, Avidik, Mina Hatun, and a public road all personal names of Armenian origin, showing the strong Armenian presence in the area at the time. The owner is listed as Diramir Hatun, wife of Kalaycı Ananya, an Ottoman Armenian citizen. 

This deed is an important witness to the property rights of Ottoman Armenians in the late 19th century, as well as to the meticulous registration practices of the Ottoman land administration.
