Orta Atlas by Faik Sabri Ottoman Script 1928 (Pre–Alphabet Reform)

Description

This is an original Ottoman-script atlas titled Orta Atlas, authored by renowned Turkish geographer and educator Faik Sabri (Faik Sabri Duran) and published by İstanbul Kanaat Kütüphanesi in 1928. Although printed during the early Turkish Republic era, the work uses the Arabic-based Ottoman alphabet, as it predates the Alphabet Reform of 1 November 1928.

The atlas consists of 32 pages and includes numerous color maps, covering the geography of the Republic of Turkey, Europe, Asia, Austria, the Americas, and the Arabian Peninsula.
Faik Sabri (1882–1943), trained in Europe, is one of the foundational names in modern Turkish geography, making this atlas an important academic and historical artifact.
This is a rare early-Republic publication that visually documents both Ottoman printing culture and early Turkish cartographic education.
