Tintin – Explorers on the Moon – Turkish Edition (Uzay Casusları, Softcover, Black & White, Alfa Yayınları, Mid-1980s)

Description:

This Turkish edition of Explorers on the Moon, published under the Turkish title Uzay Casusları, is the dramatic conclusion to Tintin’s legendary space adventure storyline created by Hergé. It was released by Alfa Yayınları as part of its second Tintin series in the mid-1980s. Founded in 1978 by Ali Recan, Alfa Yayınları was one of the most influential publishers in bringing Tintin to Turkish readers, beginning Tintin publications in 1980 and continuing with multiple series throughout the decade.

The comic is presented in softcover format and printed entirely in black and white. This production approach was dictated by economic realities rather than artistic choice. Since original Tintin albums had been published in full color internationally from 1941 onward, producing color editions in Turkey would have required significantly higher printing costs. To manage these costs, Alfa Yayınları reproduced the albums in black and white, resulting in editions that are now considered characteristic examples of Turkish comic publishing from the 1980s.

This volume is Book Number 14 of Alfa Yayınları’s second Tintin series and directly follows Merih’e Yolculuk (Destination Moon). As the concluding chapter of the space saga and the final volume of the series, it holds particular importance for collectors seeking to complete the full mid-1980s Alfa Yayınları Tintin run.
