Description:

This Turkish edition of Flight 714 to Sydney , published under the Turkish title Ölüm Uçuşu, is one of the most unusual and science-fiction-oriented adventures in Hergé’s Tintin series. It was released by Alfa Yayınları as part of its second Tintin series during the mid-1980s. Founded in 1978 by Ali Recan, Alfa Yayınları was a key publisher in the Turkish comic scene, issuing numerous Tintin titles throughout the 1980s after beginning publication in 1980.

The comic is presented in softcover format and printed entirely in black and white. This was a practical, cost-driven decision rather than an artistic one. While original Tintin albums had been published in full color internationally since 1941, color printing in Turkey would have required substantially higher production costs. To keep the books affordable, Alfa Yayınları reproduced the artwork in black and white, resulting in editions that today stand as characteristic examples of Turkish comic publishing practices of the period.

This volume is Book Number 19 of Alfa Yayınları’s second Tintin series.
