Yakari is a well-known European comic series written by André Jobin and illustrated by Derib (real name Claude de Ribaupierre). The series follows the adventures of Yakari, a young Sioux Native American boy who possesses the rare ability to understand and speak with animals. Thanks to this unique gift, Yakari forms special friendships with many animals of the North American wilderness and learns important lessons about courage, nature, and respect for living beings. The series later became widely popular and was adapted into an animated television show.

Yakari’s adventures take place across the plains and forests of North America, where he encounters many animals native to the region. His closest companions include the Sioux girl Rainbow, the Sioux boy Buffalo Seed, and his faithful pony Little Thunder. This Turkish edition was published by Bilge Kültür Sanat Yayınları between 2011 and 2014, during which a total of 10 issues were released in Turkey.
