This is a Turkish-language, black-and-white comic book titled Güngörmüş Ailesi, the Turkish edition of the classic American comic strip Bringing Up Father, created by legendary cartoonist George McManus. The strip follows the life of Jiggs, an Irish immigrant who suddenly becomes wealthy after winning a million dollars, and the humorous conflicts that arise as his wife Maggie pushes for a more aristocratic lifestyle while Jiggs longs for his old, simple habits.

This edition was published by Bora Yayınları as part of their Altın Seri, and this copy is Issue No. 10. Bora Yayınları, founded in 1979 by Fuat Yılmaz, was particularly active during the early 1980s and became known for publishing Turkish editions of popular American comic strips and characters. Each issue in their series often focused on a different well-known comic hero or family.

Due to the high cost of color printing in Turkey during this period, the comic was printed entirely in black and white. As was common practice at the time, the artwork was redrawn by Turkish artists using tracing paper (aydinger) rather than directly reproduced from original printing materials. This production method allowed international comics to reach Turkish readers while adapting to local publishing constraints.

As part of the Altın Seri, this issue represents one of Bora Yayınları’s more premium publication lines and serves as a characteristic example of early 1980s Turkish comic publishing.
