Hulk #3 1987 Turkish Comic Turkey cover #23
Hulk – Issue #3 (1987) – Marvel Yayınları
Description:
Hulk Issue #3 is a Turkish black-and-white comic published in 1987 by Marvel Yayınları as part of the 20-issue Hulk series released between 1987 and 1988. As with the other issues in the run, the original color material was published in black and white in Turkey due to printing costs, with interior pages recreated by tracing over the original artwork using tracing paper. This process resulted in simplified line art and a distinctly localized presentation typical of Turkish superhero comics of the late 1980s.
The series’ well-known cover-to-content mismatch continues here. Issue #3 uses a cover adapted from Hulk Vol. 1 #23, while the interior stories are unrelated to the cover illustration. Inside, the issue includes two Hulk stories titled Çok Gizli and Sığınak, both featuring standalone adventures of Hulk presented outside their original narrative context.
In addition to the adapted Hulk material, this issue also contains Halk, a parody of Hulk drawn by Turkish artist Yıldırım Örer. The inclusion of locally produced parody content alongside officially licensed material reflects the hybrid nature of Turkish comic publishing at the time. For collectors, Hulk Issue #3 is notable both as part of the early Turkish Hulk series and for featuring original Turkish parody artwork by a recognized local illustrator.
