Judas – Issue #2 (2005) – Demirbaş Yayıncılık

Description:

Judas Issue #2 is a Turkish black-and-white comic published in 2005 by Demirbaş Yayıncılık, continuing the short-lived Judas series that ran for a total of three issues. As with the rest of this edition, the comic is printed in Turkish and in black and white, and features cover artwork that differs from the original Italian series, giving the Demirbaş Yayıncılık run a distinct visual presentation. Each issue in this series contains two separate stories, offering a content-rich format despite the limited number of published issues.

The character Judas, created by Ennio Missaglia, is a former outlaw named Alan Scott whose life changes after the death of his girlfriend Vivien during a robbery. Overcome by guilt, he turns himself in and adopts the name “Judas,” becoming a western anti-hero driven by themes of justice, conscience, and redemption.

Issue #2 continues the unconventional editorial approach seen in the first issue. Instead of following the original Italian publication order, this volume combines two different episodes from the Italian series: İnsan Avcısı and Sıra Sana da Gelecek. These stories correspond to Cougar il fuorilegge (#10) and Il giustiziere (#2) in the original run. The reordering and pairing of non-consecutive stories is characteristic of Turkish comic publishing practices of the period and adds further interest for collectors comparing local editions with their Italian counterparts.
