The Little Prince – “Rüzgar Gezegeni” – Turkish First Edition, Yapı Kredi Yayınları (2012)

Description:

This is The Little Prince: Rüzgar Gezegeni, published in Turkish by Yapı Kredi Yayınları in 2012 as a first edition. Printed in color, this comic is part of the official comic adaptation series of Antoine de Saint-Exupéry’s classic work The Little Prince (Le Petit Prince). The artwork for this volume is by Diane Fayolle.

The original French title of this story is Le Petit Prince – La Planète des Éoliens, and it corresponds to Little Prince #1: The Planet of Wind. This adaptation reimagines the timeless philosophical tale of The Little Prince in a graphic novel format, expanding its universe with new planetary adventures while preserving the spirit and themes of the original work.

In this story, The Little Prince and the Fox travel to a planet powered entirely by wind. The inhabitants of the planet, known as the “Wind Makers,” use enormous wings to harness wind energy in order to keep their world warm and functioning. However, when the wind begins to fail, the planet faces serious environmental challenges, including rising temperatures and instability.

At the same time, internal conflict arises between two brothers among the planet’s inhabitants, adding a social dimension to the environmental crisis. The Little Prince intervenes, attempting to restore balance and resolve both the ecological and interpersonal tensions affecting the planet.

This volume reflects the series’ approach of combining imaginative world-building with underlying philosophical and ecological themes. Topics such as energy dependence, environmental balance, cooperation, and conflict resolution are explored through a narrative accessible to both younger and adult readers.

As the first issue in the series, this edition introduces readers to the expanded universe of The Little Prince beyond the original novel, maintaining its reflective tone while presenting new characters, settings, and moral dilemmas.
