This Red Kit comic was published in Turkey in 1986 by Şiiler Yayınevi as a special issue. The series is a Turkish adaptation of the original Belgian comic Lucky Luke, created by Morris. In Turkey, the character’s name was changed to “Red Kit,” and the comics were printed in Turkish and in black and white. While the original European editions were published in full color, Turkish publishers reduced production costs by having local artists retrace the original artwork onto acetate sheets and then print them in black and white. This production method resulted in visuals that differ noticeably from the original European albums.

One of the most distinctive and collectible aspects of this Turkish edition is its cover art. Unlike the original Lucky Luke series, the covers were newly illustrated by Turkish artists, giving these editions a unique visual identity and making them especially appealing to collectors. This localized artistic approach sets the Turkish editions apart from their European counterparts.

This special issue, titled Red Kit Kızıl Derililere Karşı, adapts the story from the original Lucky Luke album Les Collines noires. In addition to the main Red Kit story, the book includes extra short comics at the end, namely Tom ve Ceri (Tom and Jerry) and Tonton ve Çocukları – Beklenmeyen Av. The inclusion of such supplementary material was a common editorial practice, aimed at enriching the content and increasing the overall page count.
