Oktar – Issue #3 (1981) – Hasal Yayınları

Description:

Oktar Issue #3 is a Turkish black-and-white comic published in 1981 by Hasal Yayınları, a publisher known for its brief but prolific output during the early 1980s. The Oktar series ran for a total of five issues and followed the same high–page count, mixed-content format seen across many Hasal publications of the period. With limited print runs and inexpensive paper quality, surviving copies are increasingly difficult to find today.

This issue spans 96 pages and includes several different stories: Oktar – Yıldırım Bileziği, Azer Bey – Dişi Korsan, and Balyoz Çavuş ve Sinek. The lead feature, Oktar, is the Turkish edition of Marco Polo originally published in Mon Journal. As with many Hasal titles, the original series title was changed for the Turkish market, and multiple unrelated comics were combined into a single volume to maximize content density.

The presence of adventure, historical, and humor-oriented stories within one issue reflects the experimental and economically driven publishing practices of the era. For collectors, Oktar Issue #3 holds particular interest as part of a very short-lived series and as an example of how European source material was adapted and repackaged for Turkish readers in the early 1980s comic scene.
