Ottoman Deed – Agricultural Land near Kilis (Ayıntab Livası), 1922

Description:
This original Ottoman deed, dated 24 Kanun-ı Sani 1338 (24 January 1922), records the ownership of a 3 dönüm agricultural field located in Kilis district, Ayıntab Livası (modern Gaziantep), with the location described in the document as “near the center” (merkeze yakın).

The land originally belonged to Mehmed Oğlu Hacı Veli Efendi. Upon his death, the property was inherited by his granddaughter Hayriye (daughter of Osman).

As one of the last Ottoman deeds issued before the proclamation of the Republic, the nationality field still lists “Osmaniye” (Ottoman), indicating it predates the foundation of the Turkish Republic.

The deed is written on watermarked paper, and bears Ottoman fiscal stamps and official seals, adding to its authenticity.
