Description:
An original Ottoman tax document issued for real estate and land tax (Emlak ve Arazi Vergisi), dated 12 Temmuz 1326 (25 Temmuz 1910). The record pertains to Haçatur’s wife Agavni and Tatyos, residents of İstanbul, Sultan Ahmed district, Katip Kasım Mahallesi. Both individuals were Ottoman Armenian citizens, and this document stands as a testament to the active civic participation and fiscal responsibility of the Armenian community in the Ottoman capital during the early 20th century.

The document meticulously itemizes the total amount of 200 kuruş 35 para, divided into four installments. It records 144 kuruş 15 para under sene-i maliyede tahsil olacak bakiye (remaining balance for the fiscal year), 55 kuruş 20 para under sene-i haliye mürettebatı (current year’s levy), and 1 kuruş for tezkire-i esmani (document fee).

Though a portion of the lower edge has been cut, the paper still bears visible Ottoman stamps and partial seals, preserving its official character.
