Rolling Stone Türkiye – “AC/DC” – Issue #30, November 2008 – Turkish Edition

Description:

Rolling Stone is a world-renowned American magazine covering music, popular culture, and politics, originally founded in San Francisco in 1967 by Jann Wenner and music critic Ralph J. Gleason. Rolling Stone Türkiye began publication in June 2006 and continued until its final issue in January 2009, bringing the international magazine’s distinctive approach to music journalism and cultural commentary to Turkish readers.

This Turkish-language issue, dated November 2008, is the 30th issue of Rolling Stone Türkiye and features legendary Australian rock band AC/DC on the cover. The magazine explores the band’s return with Black Ice, their first studio album in eight years, examining their enduring rock ’n’ roll philosophy and the more understated side of life behind the scenes. Other features revisit Oasis during their 1996 breakthrough period and the worldwide success of (What’s the Story) Morning Glory?, including the Gallagher brothers’ prominent place in the Britpop movement. The issue also explores Kurt Cobain’s personal life and creative process through previously unseen material presented in the book Cobain Unseen.

Further coverage includes Kings of Leon during the Only by the Night era, with backstage insights into their New York life, and Madonna’s Sticky & Sweet Tour. Slash discusses his custom-made Les Paul guitar, preparations for his solo album, and his experience with Velvet Revolver. The issue also examines Lou Reed’s reinterpretation of his 1973 album Berlin through live performances and a film project. Combining classic rock, Britpop, alternative rock, and contemporary pop, this issue offers a snapshot of the international music scene in late 2008.
