Royal Invitation Kingdom of Iraq King Faisal II Era 1953 Middle East Al-Rehab Palace
Royal Invitation - Kingdom of Iraq, King Faisal II Era, 1953
Description:
An original royal invitation issued by order of His Royal Majesty King Faisal II of Iraq, dated May 2, 1953. The invitation, written in Arabic (accompanied by an English version), was sent by the President of the Royal Protocol to Dr. Shukri Muhammad, inviting him to attend a reception at the gardens of Al-Rehab Palace in celebration of His Majesty the King assuming his constitutional powers.
The card bears the embossed royal emblem of the Kingdom of Iraq and includes a dress code section printed at the bottom, a typical feature of mid-20th-century royal events.
This piece represents the refined ceremonial culture of the Hashemite monarchy before the 1958 revolution, marking one of the significant public events in King Faisal II’s short reign. The dual-language format reflects Iraq’s international orientation and close ties with the British-influenced diplomatic world of the time.
