This is a Turkish-language, black-and-white comic book adaptation of Sinbad the Sailor, based on the classic animated film version of the legendary seafaring hero. Sinbad the Sailor follows the fantastical adventures of Sinbad across exotic lands and dangerous seas, featuring mythical creatures, daring voyages, and heroic exploits rooted in Middle Eastern folklore.
This issue was published by Bora Yayınları as part of their Altın Seri, a prominent and collectible series released in the early 1980s. Bora Yayınları, founded in 1979 by Fuat Yılmaz, was active primarily during the early 1980s and became known for publishing Turkish adaptations of internationally famous characters, including animated film properties and American comic strips.
Due to the high cost of color printing in Turkey at the time, this edition was printed entirely in black and white. As with other Bora Yayınları publications, the artwork was redrawn by Turkish artists using tracing techniques rather than directly reproducing the original animated or comic artwork. This practice resulted in a localized visual interpretation distinct from original Western editions.
In addition to the main Sinbad story, the final pages of this issue include a short Blondie comic, published in Turkey under the name Fatoş. Blondie, created by American cartoonist Chic Young, adds a lighthearted domestic comedy element to the book, making this issue a mixed-content publication featuring both adventure and humor.
