The Flintstones – Altın Seri #27 (Turkish Edition, Bora Yayınları)

Description:

This is a Turkish-language, black-and-white comic book featuring The Flintstones, the classic animated series originally created by William Hanna and Joseph Barbera. Known in Turkey as Taşdevri, The Flintstones humorously depict modern suburban life reimagined in a prehistoric Stone Age setting, following the everyday adventures of Fred Flintstone, his family, and friends.

This issue was published by Bora Yayınları as part of their Altın Seri, one of the publisher’s most recognizable and widely collected lines during the early 1980s. Founded in 1979 by Fuat Yılmaz, Bora Yayınları played a significant role in bringing internationally popular animated and comic characters to Turkish readers through localized editions.

Due to the high cost of color printing in Turkey at the time, this edition was produced entirely in black and white. As with other Bora Yayınları publications, the artwork was not directly reproduced from the original American material; instead, it was redrawn by Turkish artists using tracing techniques. This resulted in a localized visual style that differs noticeably from the original Western editions while retaining the core humor and character identities.
