The Smurfs #2 The Smurf King 2011 Turkish Comic Turkey Schtroumpf
Şirinler – “Kral Şirin” (The Smurf King) – Turkish Edition, GNR Kitap (2011)
Description:
This is a Turkish-language, softcover Smurfs comic published by GNR Kitap as part of a short-lived Turkish Smurfs series issued between 2011 and 2013. Although the publisher originally planned to release additional volumes, the series concluded after only eight issues. Remaining classic Smurfs stories that had not yet appeared in this series were later published in Turkey by Alfa Yayınevi in subsequent years.
Printed entirely in color and produced in the same format and dimensions as the original Franco-Belgian albums, the GNR Kitap editions aimed to remain faithful to the original Smurfs publications in both presentation and storytelling. Unlike earlier Turkish adaptations that sometimes altered formats or presentation, this series preserved the original comic structure and visual layout.
This volume presents “Kral Şirin”, the Turkish edition of The Smurf King, one of the classic early Smurfs stories created by Peyo. The story revolves around the power vacuum that emerges in the village when Papa Smurf temporarily leaves, prompting the Smurfs to organize an election to choose a new leader. What begins as a democratic process quickly turns chaotic as ambition, manipulation, and rivalry divide the normally peaceful Smurf community. This volume constitutes Issue No. 2 of the GNR Kitap Smurfs series and was published in 2011.
