Tintin – The Shooting Star mid 1980s Turkish Edition Comic Turkey 2
Tintin – The Shooting Star – Turkish Edition (Softcover, Black & White, Alfa Yayınları, Mid-1980s)
Description:
This Turkish edition of The Shooting Star (Düşen Yıldız), originally created by Hergé, belongs to the second Tintin series published by Alfa Yayınları in the mid-1980s. Alfa Yayınları was founded in 1978 by Ali Recan and played a key role in introducing Tintin to Turkish readers, beginning the publication of Tintin albums in 1980 and continuing with multiple series throughout the 1980s.
The comic is published in a softcover format and printed entirely in black and white. This production choice was made primarily for economic reasons. Since original Tintin albums had been printed in full color internationally from 1941 onward, producing color editions in Turkey would have required considerably higher printing costs. To reduce expenses, Alfa Yayınları reproduced the artwork in black and white, resulting in editions that are today considered characteristic examples of Turkish comic publishing of the period.
This volume is Book Number 9 of Alfa Yayınları’s second Tintin series. An additional point of interest for collectors is the advertisement for the “Captain America” and "Fantastic Four" comic, published by Alfa Yayınları, which appears at the end of the book. Such publisher advertisements provide valuable historical context and further enhance the collectible appeal of this edition.
