Vampirella – Issue #10 – Benli Yayınevi Turkish Edition (1976)

Description:

This comic is Issue #10 from the Turkish Vampirella series published by Benli Yayınevi between 1976 and 1978. The series ran for a total of 31 issues and continues to represent one of the earliest dedicated Vampirella publications in Turkey. As part of the initial weekly 34-page numbered issues, this edition reflects the anthology-style approach that combined Vampirella stories with international horror and supernatural content, before the later shift to monthly expanded unnumbered editions in early 1977.

Printed entirely in black and white and in a smaller comic book format (approximately 24 cm in height), this issue maintains the series’ mix of gothic horror, science fiction, and classic supernatural storytelling. Drawing from Warren Publishing’s Creepy and Eerie magazines, as well as other international horror and comic sources, the series offered Turkish readers a unique and diverse reading experience with a strong collector appeal.

Issue #10 features a Vampirella story from Vampirella #18 (1972 – Dracula Still Lives), continuing the character’s dark and atmospheric adventures. The issue also includes “Nefertiti’nin Mezarı,” adapted from Devilina #1 (1975, Atlas Comics – The Lost Tomb of Nefertiri), adding an archaeological horror element to the anthology. Additionally, it presents “Yaşayan Vampir Morbius – Herşey Nasıl Başlamıştı,” the Turkish adaptation of Amazing Spider-Man #102, giving readers a crossover into Marvel’s supernatural and superhero universe.

The cover is adapted from Vampirella #28, preserving the strong visual identity of the original series while presenting it in a localized Turkish format. As part of the early run, this issue continues to exemplify the series’ blend of iconic Vampirella stories, international horror, and Marvel crossovers, making it a highly collectible edition for fans and collectors of Turkish horror comics.
