Vampirella #7 1976 Turkish Comic Turkey Warren Publishing cover #33 #17 Morbius
Vampirella – Issue #7 – Benli Yayınevi Turkish Edition (1976)
Description:
This comic is Issue #7 from the Turkish Vampirella series published by Benli Yayınevi between 1976 and 1978. The series ran for a total of 31 issues and remains one of the earliest dedicated Vampirella publications in Turkey. Released as part of the initial weekly 34-page numbered editions, this issue continued to establish Vampirella’s presence in the Turkish comic market, before the series’ later transition to monthly, expanded unnumbered issues in early 1977.
Printed entirely in black and white and in a smaller comic book format (approximately 24 cm in height), this issue continues the series’ tradition of curating horror and science fiction content from multiple sources. Drawing from Warren Publishing’s Creepy and Eerie magazines as well as other international horror publications, the anthology-style approach offers Turkish readers a rich and diverse reading experience, combining classic horror narratives with ongoing Vampirella stories.
Issue #7 features a Vampirella story from Vampirella #17 (1972), further developing the character’s early adventures with her signature gothic and science fiction elements. The issue also includes “Frankenstein’ın Laneti,” a comic adaptation of the 1958 film Curse of Frankenstein, bringing classic cinematic horror to Turkish readers in a faithful comic format. Additionally, it features “Yaşayan Vampir Morbius – Kanlı Hayat,” a story starring Marvel’s Morbius the Living Vampire, providing a crossover element that enhances the issue’s appeal to fans of both Vampirella and broader horror/supernatural comics.
The cover is adapted from Vampirella #33, maintaining the strong visual identity of the original series while localized for Turkish publication. As part of the early run, this issue continues to reinforce the series’ reputation for combining iconic horror characters, cinematic adaptations, and Vampirella’s own mythos, making it a key collectible for enthusiasts of Turkish horror comics.
