Yakari is a well-known European comic series written by André Jobin and illustrated by Derib (real name Claude de Ribaupierre). The series follows the adventures of Yakari, a young Sioux Native American boy who possesses the rare ability to understand and speak with animals. Thanks to this unique gift, Yakari forms special friendships with many animals of the North American wilderness and learns important lessons about courage, nature, and respect for living beings. The series later became widely popular and was adapted into an animated television show.

Yakari’s adventures take place across the plains and forests of North America, where he encounters many animals native to the region. His closest companions include the Sioux girl Rainbow, the Sioux boy Buffalo Seed, and his faithful pony Little Thunder. Together they experience journeys that blend adventure, humor, and meaningful stories inspired by indigenous traditions and the natural world.

This Turkish edition was published by Bilge Kültür Sanat Yayınları between 2011 and 2014, during which a total of 10 issues were released in Turkey. The series is printed in Turkish and in full color. This eighth issue, published in 2014, contains the story titled Yakari ile Beyaz Post, originally published in French as Au pays des loups. In this adventure Yakari travels into the territory of wolves, where he encounters the mysterious White Fur and learns more about the life and hierarchy of the wolf pack. The story once again emphasizes Yakari’s deep connection with animals and highlights themes of courage, respect, and harmony with nature.
