Yüxexes Magazine – “Rammstein” – Issue #8, February 2006 – Turkish Edition
Description:
Yüxexes was a Turkish monthly music and culture magazine launched in March 2005, inspired by the popular music program on Dream TV. Covering rock, heavy metal, and alternative music, it featured interviews with Turkish and international bands, album reviews, cinema, comics, and collectible posters. Published until 2009, it became a notable part of Turkey’s alternative music and youth culture during the 2000s.
This Turkish-language issue, dated February 2006, is the eighth issue of Yüxexes and features German industrial metal band Rammstein on the cover. The magazine explores the band’s album Rosenrot, their distinctive industrial metal sound, and the artistic background of their German-language lyrics. Other features examine Neil Young’s album Prairie Wind, his influence on grunge, and his musical connection with Kurt Cobain. The issue also discusses the political lyrics and musical evolution of System of a Down through their albums Mezmerize and Hypnotize, alongside My Chemical Romance’s emo and pop-punk sound, their album Three Cheers for Sweet Revenge, and the music video for “Helena.”
Further coverage examines Behemoth’s rise following Demigod and their position in extreme metal, Destruction’s history in the German thrash metal scene and backstage stories from their Istanbul concert, and Franz Ferdinand’s role in the indie rock movement through a review of You Could Have It So Much Better. The issue also revisits Limp Bizkit’s rise during the nu-metal era, Wes Borland’s departure and return, and the band’s discography. Combining industrial metal, grunge, extreme metal, emo, indie rock, and nu-metal, this issue offers a broad snapshot of the international rock and metal scene in 2006.
